PROFILE: Established in the late-1990s, the Eau Claire Community Foundation (ECCF) is a community foundation based in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Local community members created this foundation after the Hobbs Foundation gave its last donation in 1995, after 35 years of giving. Society of Founders members give charitable gifts of $10,000 to sustain this foundation. ECCF awards grants from over 250 funds today. The Eau Claire Community Foundation funds arts and culture groups that support music, museums and visual and performing arts. Education grants support children and adults through various opportunities. ECCF supports efforts to restore natural resources locally and also opportunities for children and adults to participate in recreation and sports activities. In human services, the foundation has funded basic needs, such as food, shelter, clothing and safety. Competitive grants come in the form of program grants and asset purchase/improvement grants. There is also a women’s giving circle at ECCF to address the needs of women and children, as well as the Eau Claire Public Schools Foundation as a supporting organization of the community foundation.

Grants range between about $5,000 and $50,000. Grantmaking focuses on the Eau Claire region of Wisconsin. Past local grantees include Chippewa Valley Wildlife Rehabilitation, Mighty Maddy's Mission and the Valley Gospel Choir.
