PROFILE: Established in 1993, the Marshfield Area Community Foundation (MACF) is a public charity foundation based in Marshfield, Wisconsin. Two sisters, Anne and Bette Adler, created this foundation to have a long-term impact on their home community. The foundation aims to "connect people who care with causes that matter to enrich the quality of life in the Marshfield area.” MACF funds local efforts for arts, education, the environment, animals, sports and leisure, youth development, human services and community development.

The Marshfield Area Community Foundation manages over 200 funds and has multiple funds that support each of its main interest area. For example, animal-related funds include the Marshfield Dog Park Fund and the Zoo Bear Fund. Arts funds include the Central Chamber Corale Fund and the LuCille Tack Center for the Arts Fund. Community development support comes from the Community Grants Fund and the Jerry & Rita Heinzen and Family Fund. There are more education-related funds than any other type of funds, but many of these only award scholarships. Other grant opportunities are through the Vaschorious funds for food for people in need, housing and shelter, health, human services, youth, religion and sports and leisure activities. MACF awards community grants through the Forever Fund, and these funds are open to nonprofit applications. Other funds that welcome applications are the Women’s Giving Circle Fund, Senior Citizens Fund and Greg and Sally Rindfleisch Performing Arts Fund. MACF has recently partnered with the Marshfield Area United Way to establish a COVID-19 Relief Fund.
