PROFILE: Established in 1998, the Southern Colorado Community Foundation (SCCF) is a community funder based in Pueblo, Colorado. It is home to over 50 funds created by organizations, businesses, and individuals. SCCF “enhances the quality of life and promotes philanthropy through leadership, resources, and traditions.” The funder supports local efforts for human services, children and youth, historic preservation, education, scholarships, and other community needs.

The Southern Colorado Community Foundation awards grants from many different funds that have been established by local families and business entities. Some of these funds include the Bent County Development Foundation Fund, A Caring Pregnancy Center, Nancy Crafton Fund for Migrants and Homeless, and Ken and Gloria White Endowment for Children. Each fund has its own unique guidelines and preferences. For example, the Community Fund supports leadership requests, Chamberlain Fund grants go to Pueblo County organizations only, and Kerr Foundation grants focus on Rio Grande and Saguache County organizations. There are also numerous scholarship funds managed by SCCF.
