Sinha Kikeri Foundation

OVERVIEW: The Sinha Kikeri Foundation primarily supports arts, education and social justice causes. Greater Chicago is this funder’s main geographic priority.

IP TAKE: The foundation keeps a low public profile, which limits information available on its grantmaking priorities and activities.

PROFILE:  Founded in 2012, the Sinha Kikeri Foundation was established by businessman Prabha Sinha and his wife Anita. Prabha cofounded ZS Associates, a consulting and professional services firm in Illinois. Based in Evanston, Illinois, this funder does not maintain a website, which limits information on its grantmaking interests. Tax filings suggest that the Sinha Kikeri Foundation primarily supports arts, education and various social justice causes. Much of its grantmaking is directed toward organizations operating in the greater Chicago area.

Anita chairs the board of governors of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, which the foundation steadily supports. In one instance, the Sinhas helped bring an exhibit by the Indian artist Jitish Kallat to the Art Institute. Anita has also worked on behalf of the Chicago Foundation for Women, another grantee.

Grants range from $100 to $68,789. In a recent tax year, the foundation gave away around $170,000. Past grantees include Chicago Humanities Festival, North Shore Country Day School, Chicago High School for the Arts and the Great Chicago Food Depository.

The foundation keeps a low profile and does not accept unsolicited proposals.
