PROFILE: Established in 1951, the Hillman Foundation is a private family foundation based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is the foundation of John Hartwell Hillman, Jr. and part of a group of foundations collectively known as the Hillman Family Foundations. This foundation aims to "improve the quality of life in Pittsburgh and southwestern Pennsylvania through strategic and thoughtful grantmaking in support of a wide range of institutions to advance economic development, health, education, human services, the arts and the environment.”

The Hillman Foundation broadly funds the local communities in which it is based, awarding grants that range in size.
