Ted Arison Family Foundation

OVERVIEW: The Ted Arison Family Foundation supports projects in Israel and abroad in the areas of education, children and youth, vulnerable peoples, disability and health.

IP TAKE: This is a funder with a singular focus and those outside of Israel will find it difficult to receive support. The foundation is generally transparent and readily approachable through its online contact form; however, it does tend to fund the same organizations year after year. This is a tough funder if you’re a new grantee seeking support. It’s recommended you contact the foundation and network with it’s previous grantees - if your work focuses on supporting Israel.

PROFILE: The Ted Arison Family Foundation was created in 1981 by the late Ted Arison, who founded Carnival Cruises, and his daughter Shari Arison. It seeks to “invest in upgrading the quality of life and transforming the human environment” and maintains the aim of “Doing Good by generating impactful social investments and strategic philanthropy, creating innovative vision ventures, advancing a wide range of key projects and strategic investment, and endorsing in its annual grants.” The foundation operates in the U.S. and Israel, but nearly all of its grantmaking goes to projects in Israel. Since its inception, the foundation has given more than $436 million to social causes in Israel, supporting over 1,700 organizations. The foundation’s priority areas are Education, Children and Youth, Population in Distress, Disabilities, and Health, all of which fund development efforts in Israel.
