PROFILE: Established in 1946, the CHS Foundation is a corporate foundation based in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota. The CHS company is an agribusiness owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives and that works in the industries of energy, agronomy, grains and foods. CHS makes funding opportunities available through both its company and its foundation. The foundation aims to make a "long-lasting, measurable impact on rural America on behalf of our farmer-owners,” funding local efforts for agriculture education, rural youth and agriculture careers.

The CHS Foundation has invested millions of dollars in igniting innovation in agriculture education since inception. It supports efforts for agriculture teacher preparation, agriculture student scholarships, preparing students for agriculture careers and teaching future agriculture leaders about the co-op business model. It funds local-level projects through its CHS Seeds for Stewardship cooperative matching grants program. CHS also considers state-level and national-level requests in its made company trade area. Community giving opportunities are for agriculture safety, the Backyard Giving grants program for the Twin Cities of Minnesota, Seeds for Stewardship and sponsorships. CHS does not support medical or disease causes, political or religious causes, sports or athletic requests or individuals.

The CHS Foundation accepts agriculture education, rural youth leadership and university requests on a rolling basis and cooperative education grant requests from January to March.
