PROFILE: Established in 1978, the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (GKCCF) is a community foundation based in Kansas City, Missouri. Since its founding GKCCF has grown to become one of the largest public charities of its kind, now managing over 3,800 charitable funds and ranking in the top one percent of U.S. community foundations for total assets, grants, and gifts. GKCCF aims to “improve the quality of life in Greater Kansas City by increasing charitable giving, educating and connecting donors to community needs they care about, and leading on critical community issues.” It funds local efforts for education, minorities, women, children, food systems, basic needs, hunger, homelessness, energy efficiency, digital inclusion, and other community needs.
