The SSM Health Foundation is supported by health care professionals, corporate leaders, community donors and volunteers who make an impact on the healthcare of the region. It is the result of the consolidation of multiple foundation and therefore aims to be efficient and effective with its goals of improving facilities and programs. One of the big initial goals of the foundation has been to improve behavioral health, while investing in the ongoing education of nurses and other medical staff is also a priority. Construction projects receive support from the foundation. During times of emergency and urgent needs, it creates response funds, such as the COVID-19 fund to help frontline health providers with supplies, testing, employee relief and caregiver support
