PROFILE: Established in 1976, the Phelps County Community Foundation (PCCF) is a community foundation based in Holdrege, Nebraska. A local resident, Mrs. Irene Anderson, established a trust fund that stipulated that a community foundation be established within five years of her death. The foundation aims to "encourage and provide opportunities for charitable giving, to manage and distribute the funds in a responsible manner and to enhance the quality of life for the people of Phelps County.” PCCF funds local efforts for education, culture, recreation, health, human services and civic opportunities.

The Phelps County Community Foundation is the premier source for charitable giving in Phelps county. It has over 4,000 donors and awards both grants and scholarships. PCCF awards competitive grants throughout the year with no application deadlines. The Future Fund is a group of local individuals who pool resources together to make local grants. Quick Response Grants are available for up to $1,000 for urgent and one-time needs. Women’s Giving Group Grants come from a group of philanthropic local women who pool their resources. PCCF also makes grants through the Roy and Mary L. Pearson Charitable Fund for local and statewide causes.
