PROFILE: Established in 1928, the Pikes Peak Community Foundation (PPCF) is a community foundation based in Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was originally the Colorado Springs Community Trust, a collection of separate trusts managed by three local banks. The trust was dissolved in 2009, and today PPCF administers over 230 funds. PPCF aims to “inspire generosity, serve donors and mobilize resources to build community capital and effectively address issues facing the Pikes Peak Region.” It funds local efforts for education, recreation, health, human services, community, and emergency relief.

The Pikes Peak Community Foundation offers focused funding for specific causes, such as the Climb Fund to support organized rock climbing and the Gerald Erikson Fund to support people who are blind or visually impaired. The foundation has a Giving Together co-funding initiative that involves donors committing at least $5,000 to a pooled grant fund to collectively support youth, families, housing, and other causes. PPCF has emergency relief funds for both El Paso and Teller Counties in Colorado to address natural disasters and crises. Also, PPCF awards scholarships, offers a nonprofit endowment program, has a social enterprise development program, and pursues a safety initiative.

Grants range between about $5,000 and $10,000. Learn more about this funder’s local giving by examining its recent tax records.
