PROFILE: Established in 2007, the Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley (CFGV) is a community foundation based in Gunnison and Crested Butte, Colorado. This foundation formed upon the merger of the Gunnison Area Community Foundation (founded 1997) and the Crested Butte Community Foundation (founded 2002). The foundation “strengthens and enriches the community through engaged philanthropy, thoughtful grantmaking, strategic education and collaborative leadership.” CFGV funds local efforts for human services, community development, historical preservation, environment, education, arts and culture and athletics and recreation.

The Community Foundation of the Gunnison Valley awards grants through its annual fund and community grants program.
