Giving Trends in Rhode Island

Rhode Island is a state that would benefit from more funding, both private and public. A 2022 survey conducted by the Grantmakers Council of Rhode Island and United Way of Rhode Island found that nonprofits in the state are struggling as a result of inadequate resources. In 2019, Candid reports, about 2,100 grantmakers collectively made about $619 million in grants for Rhode Island.
