PROFILE: Established in 1997, the B.W. Bastian Foundation is a private foundation based in Orem, Utah. Born in 1948, Bruce Wayne Bastian co-founded WordPerfect Software Company and has committed a significant portion of his life to philanthropy and activism for local LGBTQ communities. The foundation “strives to build community and understanding by supporting local and national institutions.” It supports local efforts for the arts, education, equality for the LGBTQ community, and HIV/AIDS programs.

This statement must address the inclusion of the LGBTQ community in particular. The Bastian Foundation provides general operating support, program/project support, capacity-building support, and advocacy support. However, it does not fund lobbying, political campaigns, film productions, scholarships, capital projects, research or individuals.
