PROFILE: Established in 1994, the Harley-Davidson Foundation (HDF) is a corporate foundation based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is the company-sponsored foundation of the motorcycle company, Harley-Davidson, which dates back to 1903 and is one of the most-recognized brands in the world. The foundation aims to “improve the quality of life for all by targeting our charitable giving in the areas of greatest need where we have corporate and manufacturing facilities.” HDF funds local efforts for education, health, neighborhoods and community vibrancy.

The Harley-Davidson Foundation’s education grants are focused on STEAM education, access to healthcare for students and mentorship. Community vibrancy grants help Milwaukee communities flourish through cultural programming and also offer emergency relief after major disasters. HDF awards healthy and sustainable neighborhood grants that address access to healthy food, workforce development and economic empowerment. As a general rule, HDF does not support capital campaigns, conferences, political or religious causes, schools or community athletic events.
